Internship Title: Marketing and Development Intern
Host Organization: YMCA of Northern Colorado
As a Summer PIIE Intern, you will be actively involved in the following tasks: Marketing & Data Support: -Work alongside the Digital Marketing Specialist to track and analyze trends, including membership moving averages and members at risk. -Work within Daxko to collect operational data and collaborate on data visualization strategies. -Participate in Qualtrics survey development and analysis. -Assist with NPS software post-migration troubleshooting -Contribute to various marketing projects, including analytics reporting, member feedback analysis, influencer research, and content creation Development & Fundraising Support: -Work alongside the Director of Development to index auction items on an online database for an upcoming gala and fundraising auction event. -Participate in a special event fundraising committee. -Manage initiatives to steward first time donors. -Assist in implementing key fundraising campaigns such as the Strong Kids Tri, and other events that occur during the internship timeline. -Provide administrative support, including data entry and document management. Learning & Development Opportunities: -Gain a solid understanding of marketing within the nonprofit sector. -Tour YMCA locations to observe firsthand how fundraising drives community impact. -Opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects with real-world impact. -Networking opportunities with professionals in development, business intelligence, and fundraising.
On-site: Position will need to be on-site at the Lafayette YMCA as all our programs operate in-person. Being on-site will also provide an intern the ability to enhance social and interpersonal skills while gaining observing firsthand how marketing and fundraising drives community impact and being able to participate in networking opportunities with professionals in development, business intelligence, and fundraising.
-Current undergraduate student, ideally pursuing a degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field. -Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. -Comfortable with data entry and analysis in Excel. -Familiarity with platforms such as Qualtrics, Listen360, and Salesforce is a plus, but not required. -Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude. -A passion for community impact and nonprofit work. -Previous experience with event planning, fundraising, or data management is a plus.
Our Marketing and Development departments have come together for a third summer in a row to offer an exciting and hands-on summer internship opportunity. This role will provide a unique chance to contribute to both the YMCA's marketing initiatives and fundraising efforts while gaining experience in data analysis, trend analysis, and donor relations. You will assist in a variety of projects, ranging from constraint collection and building analytic models to indexing an online gala and fundraising auction database, all while supporting our mission to make a positive impact on the community.
