Event Intern - Career Services

The Career Services Event Intern team is responsible for providing organizational and operational support in the development and execution of recruiting, Career educational and networking events. This team will report to the Events Program Manager, and will work as a part of the team in the Career Services office to support events that contribute to the success of the students and alumni. The position has a start date of August 2018 through to the end of April 2019, provided all requirements are met. This position pays $10.20/hr and works up to 10 hrs /week with peak times during event weeks reaching up to 15 hrs/week. WE WILL BE EXTENDING THIS APPLICATION THROUGH THE SUMMER.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current CU-Boulder student, in good standing sophomore status or greater. 
Ability to complete tasks on your own, and collaborate with a team. 
Excellent communication skills. 
Exceptional customer service and phone skills with the ability to solve problems and remain professional.  Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and troubleshoot. 
Light Physical Demands – Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects.
Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. 
Not afraid to ask questions and open to learning and trying new things. 
Strong computer skills, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, able to learn mail merge tool.



JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Promote Career Services recruiting and networking events to current and potential employer partners:
 Create and prepare correspondence including e-mail and faxes.
 Call and speak with employers to answer questions and promote employer event attendance.
 Compile reports
Event management:  
 Follow timelines and deadlines for each event and task.
 Provide research support for event specific goals.
 Help in the preparation and staging of each event.
 Assist with data entry, sending invoices, and collecting employer information.
 Help in distribution of event materials to employer partners, students and alumni.
 Assist the Event Coordinator with day of event details and logistics 
Help to coordinate/support 1 Career Event (as needed according to schedule).
