Bilingual Survey Coordinator (CU PIIE)

Bilingual Survey Coordinator Intern

Description
The Bilingual Survey Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director and a committee to create and implement a survey designed to measure long-term outcomes of taking English classes with Intercambio. The position requires excellent Spanish skills, the ability to engage and quickly create common ground with people from other cultures.

The results of the survey will inform the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan.

We are a friendly, empowering team. We've had the greatest interns from the PIIE program, and these interns often become employees of Intercambio or use our staff for great job references. Estamos entusiasmados a conocerle!

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Help develop the interview questions with a committee at Intercambio
  • Coordinate times and locations to interview students in English and Spanish
  • Provide feedback and suggested modifications to the surveys after conducting the first few
  • Tracking the results in Intercambio’s database
  • Conduct 100 face-to-face interviews throughout Boulder County during the internship period

Qualifications
The person in this position should demonstrate the following qualities:
  • Excellent Spanish skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Reliable transportation to conduct meetings all over Boulder County
  • Passionate about agency mission
  • Upholds organizational commitment to diversity and inclusivity
  • Strong leader with excellent people skills; works well as a leader/member of a team
  • The ability to work in a sometimes chaotic environment
  • The proven ability to work on a cross-cultural team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; speaks clearly and effectively in positive or negative situations
  • Proven time and project management skills
  • Takes initiative and problem-solver
  • Outgoing and fearless making calls to people for whom English is their second language. Great at critical thinking, task-oriented and driven to success (completing 100 interviews).
