Strengths Peer Coach

Career Services is excited to announce a student leadership opportunity through the CliftonStrengths program. Since 2008, Career Services has offered CliftonStrengths to over 10,000 CU Boulder students, faculty, and staff. Through this program, participants have identified how to apply and improve upon their strengths in their everyday lives.

As a Strengths Peer Coach, you are an ambassador for the CliftonStrengths program, working to support students by coaching them through what their natural talents are after taking the CliftonStrengths assessment. Specifically, you will accomplish this through holding one-on-one conversations with peers, writing articles to promote and spread awareness of CliftonStrengths, and necessary administrative tasks associated with the role.

What we are looking for:
-         A minimum of 3 academic semester commitment (Spring 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020)
-         Comfortable communicating and interacting with students, faculty, and staff
-         Curiosity of the CliftonStrengths assessment and desire to learn and coach others about all 34 Strengths
-         Interested in acquiring and developing counseling and coaching skills
-         Desire to grow through personal and professional development

What the job entails:
Weekly commitment of 8-10 hours at $12/hour (eligible for pay increases; the position is eligible for work study); specifically, your time will be spent:
-         In the Career Services’ office working on preparing for coaching sessions and administrative tasks, such as, communicating via email with students, setting appointment times, utilizing Handshake to create and finalize appointments, writing individualized follow up emails
-         Conducting CliftonStrengths one-on-one coaching sessions with peers in the Career Services’ office
-         Brainstorming and drafting articles for CU Boulder Today, CliftonStrengths website, and Career Services website on relating Strengths to topics students are interested in learning more about
-         Doing outreach to groups and organizations on campus, promoting the value of Strengths Peer Coaching
-         Attending weekly Strengths Peer Coaches Team meetings
-         Weekly individual meetings with supervisor
-         Attending the Strengths Advisory Meetings occurring once a semester
-         Being an ambassador and referral for Career Services array of services offered through Drop-Ins, Career Development Advising, Career Fairs, and other events.
