School Food Reform Intern - Chef Ann Foundation (CU PIIE)

Description
The School Food Reform Internship with Chef Ann Foundation is designed to primarily support the development of our school food programs and assist in fundraising initiatives. It is important for our interns to have strong writing skills and be able to articulate research findings, interviews, and the foundation’s work in an easily digestible and clear manner. Please note that you will not work directly with children for this internship. Below is a list of responsibilities:

• Work with CAF Director of Online Programs to support the marketing and operations of the School Food Institute.
• Process certificates for students of the School Food Institute as they complete major milestones.
• Compile and analyze data from school recipe testing events and prepare recipes to be loaded on to The Lunch Box.
• Upload new content to The Lunch Box and support revisions to existing site content.
• Update reach numbers for each program to accurately track and report CAF’s impact.
• Create documents that detail new and existing programs, CAF’s mission, our impact and other valuable information for partners, funders and other audiences.
• Assist with planning and implementing Real School Food Challenge fundraising events.
• Research recent studies related to school food, farm-to-school, and childhood wellness.
• Explore potential funding opportunities that align with our mission and goals.
• Assist with grant and funder reports.
• Manage thank you process for donors.
• Support other fundraising, event planning, and programming projects as needed.
• Must be able to provide own transportation to our office as necessary.
• Must have his or her own computer and phone for use throughout the internship.


Qualifications

• A passion for health and strong interest in childhood wellness.
• Undergraduates in their Junior or Senior year preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and complete projects related to various programs.
• Skilled in research and communication of research findings.
• High level of computer proficiency including but not limited to; Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing, and webinars.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
