Bilingual Survey Coordinator Intern - Intercambio Uniting Communities (CU PIIE)

Description
The Bilingual Survey Coordinator works closely with both Development/ Marketing and Student Services Teams at Intercambio to create and implement survey interviews designed to learn about the long-term outcomes of taking English classes with Intercambio, and collect stories, quotes and videos for use in our marketing materials. Interviews will be online, on the phone, or in-person as feasible. The position requires excellent Spanish skills, the ability to engage and quickly create common ground with people from other cultures.

The results of the survey will be used to better understand the impacts of our way of teaching English on immigrants and their families, and to share with our funders stories of these impacts.

RESPONSIBILITES:

- Help develop the interview questions with Grants & Evaluation Manager and other staff, coordinating the questions with other evaluation tools used at Intercambio
- Coordinate and conduct up to 100 interviews of Intercambio’s students in English and Spanish
- Provide feedback and suggested modifications to the surveys
- Input survey results in Intercambio’s database
- Contribute to data analysis and/or analysis of Intercambio’s evaluation procedures

Qualifications
This person needs to think deeply about impacts of Intercambio's programs on immigrant adults and their families, and is confident and capable of conducting loosely structured interviews in ways that encourage others to share their feelings, thoughts, and challenges.

Qualifications:
- Excellent Spanish skills
- Strong computer skills and ability to conduct uninterrupted interviews by videoconference
- Passionate about Intercambio's mission and vision, upholds organizational commitment to diversity and inclusivity
- Excellent people skills, works well as a leader/member of a cross-cultural team
- The ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven time and project management skills
- Lived bicultural experience a plus
- Background and/or interest in program evaluation for nonprofit organizations a plus
