Description


The Communications Intern will be primarily responsible for content creation on multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok) alongside our other Communications Interns. The intern will be expected to create weekly content for all platforms, attend weekly communications team meetings, attend weekly staff meetings, and occasionally participate in evening or weekend events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Work alongside the Communications Team to create a social media content plan monthly.
● Help create content as dictated by the monthly editorial calendar to promote our narrative, values, vision, and events.
● Attend weekly staff meetings and communications team meetings.
● Monitor postings to ensure brand message is consistent.
● Interact with followers and potential members by communicating and answering questions through the organization’s social pages.
● Come prepared with creative content ideas or strategies for narrative building.
● Assist with fundraising and marketing efforts via social media platforms.
● Contribute to greater communications strategy by pitching in to other communications work like drafting mass email blasts, mass text, media advisories and more.
● Attend occasional in-person direct actions or community events after work hours or on weekends.

Qualifications:
0-1 year of social media experience and management (No experience is necessary but preferred).

Bilingual— English & Spanish (Not required but strongly preferred).

Experience or familiarity with content creation software such as Canva, AdobeSpark, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

Comfortable working with Google Suite applications.
