Communications Intern at Intercambio

Position Title: Communications Intern

Host Organization: Intercambio https://intercambio.org/

The main function of this position would be to support marketing and communications tasks. The intern will work primarily with the Asst. Dir. of Marketing, but will also have a chance to work cross-functionally with our Curriculum & Training team, Partner Services team, and others, as need arises. Potential assignments include: - drafting social posts in Hootsuite - creating social graphics in Canva - website audit & edits in Wordpress - contributing to blog posts - drafting email campaigns in Campaign Monitor - ideating & executing an end of fiscal fundraising campaign - research, list building, or outreach for PR initiatives - supporting efforts to develop & compile resources for teachers & students - potentially some operations, data entry, or office management task, if needed This is list is not exhaustive. To a degree, exact tasks will be tailored to the interns interests and strengths. 

This internship could be a great fit for many different majors, including coms, marketing, journalism, education, nonprofit management, international affairs, language-related degrees, and more. - Interest in communications & marketing - A strong written and verbal communicator - Knowledge of social media best practices - Knowledge of design best practices - Organized, a clear communicator, and responsible - An understanding of how to ask pertinent questions, gain clarity on tasks, then work independently - Familiarity with or interest in other cultures - Interest in immigrant populations, adult education, and/or cultural exchange 

The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, efficient, ready to learn, and also ready to bring ideas. This person should be organized and creative. A good sense of humor is important in our org, as is empathy and the ability to give those with other perspectives the benefit of the doubt. The candidate should be ready to work cross-functionally, without ego, and with a focus on serving the collective.
