Environmental Professional

Title: Environmental Professional Location: Within commuting distance from Rifl e, CO 

Job Type: Full-time, permanent 

Compensation: Salaried - $56,000-$79,000, negotiable depending on experience; includes potential for performance-based bonuses 

Description: The position of Environmental Professional will be located within commuting distance to the EcoPoint Corporate Offi ce in Rifl e, CO. The position is expected to contribute to various types of projects both in the fi eld and in the offi ce that range from utility locating, reclamation vegetation assessments, plant identifi cation, GPS mapping and data collection, operating a drone, and desktop GIS analysis. The ratio of time spent in the fi eld versus the offi ce will vary based on the seasons and weather, with less fi eldwork occurring in the winter. This is a highly autonomous position that requires the ability to navigate to often remote locations (predominantly Oil and Gas related) and use GPS hardware, and mapping software. Considering this, the candidate should have the ability to drive a pickup on rough terrain, drive defensively, and adhere to specifi c safety protocols. The ideal candidate has the ability to identify common vegetation (including noxious weeds and native species), has a basic understanding of Oil and Gas facilities, and has a working knowledge of GIS and ESRI applications. Field work, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, includes vegetation reclamation surveys and mapping, stormwater inspections, GPS mapping and associated data collection including with a drone, etc. Successful applicants must have a high level of self-motivation, be able to work independently, have exemplary work ethic, and have a willingness to continue learning new skills and knowledge. Employees are always expected to represent the company in a professional and safe manner while in the fi eld. All fi eld equipment, cell phone, vehicles, and PPE will be provided by EcoPoint. Travel: The bulk of the work for this position will be on the Western Slope, CO; however, there will be opportunity to travel to various jobsites through the intermountain west. 

Minimum Professional Qualifi cations: 

● Ability to safely work independently or as part of a crew 

● Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, tablets, etc. 

● Received a bachelor’s degree in an environmental/GIS/Energy field

Preferred Professional Qualifi cations: 

● 2 or more years of professional experience in the environmental/GIS/energy consulting fi eld 

● Basic knowledge of regional vegetation including noxious weeds and native vegetation, additionally able to identify them in the fi eld 

● Basic Understanding of ESRI products (ArcGIS, Survey123, Workforce, and Collector/Fieldmaps) 

● Basic understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry, associated regulatory requirements, and facility layouts ● Understanding of stormwater management control measures 

● Basic understanding of underground utility line locating 

● FAA Part 107 (Commercial Drone License) Minimum Physical Qualifi cations: 

● Walking for extended amounts of time and distance 

● Physically capable of performing fi eld mapping through uneven terrain 

● Working in extreme conditions such as hot or cold weather, wind, and insects 

● Drive company vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner 

● Pass an Initial and Random Drug/Alcohol Tests 

● Possess a valid Driver’s License (with clean driving record) 

● Able to work long hours when needed
